Setagaya Public Theatre (main theatre)

Setagaya Public Theatre is designed for performing arts such as theatre and dance, as well as music. It is a theatre with the audience capacity of 600 (in the basic configuration) that can be configured into two forms: one is the open form with no boundary between the stage and audience inspired by Greek open-air theatre and the spacial character of Asian traditional theatre, and the other is the proscenium form. Equipped with high-level functions and facilities, this theatre is compatible with diverse plans of performing arts.

Special features

Stage
mechanism
The floors of the main stage, stage front, parquet and seating platforms have individual mechanism. Especially, the mechanism to adjust the elevation angle of the seating platforms is unique to this theatre. Another special feature is the separable and removable lighting bridges that enable free positioning and hanging of lights. When they are not needed, they can be hidden in the wings to create an open space without obstacles. This is unique to this theatre too. The hydraulic mechanism enables smooth and silent operation of these bridges at both very low and high speed.

Lighting
equipments
Three bridges above the main stage can be moved or removed in accordance with artistic directions and stage setting plans. Each wing is equipped with four bars for side lights. Three bars upstage and a hanging equipment for a custom-designed truss downstage can be supplied with load circuits without difficulty. The load circuits on the stage floor are rid of LH circuits and set on the walls so that sets can be moved smoothly and the level differences of the floor can be adjusted freely.

Sound
equipments
A full digital mixer with scene memory/replay functions is equipped for sufficient operations of sound effects. It has plenty of functions as an SR mixer as well as an SE mixer.
